In-Home Euthanasia
Euthanasia is a difficult decision, but it can be a compassionate way to end a beloved pet’s suffering.
In some cases, the process may begin before our arrival with anxiety medications. When Rogue Veterinary arrives, we’ll first administer a calming and pain-relieving injection. A catheter is then placed to provide access to the veins for the medications to follow. The first medication we give is commonly used in anesthetic procedures, like spays, neuters, or dental cleanings, and will help your pet fall asleep peacefully. Once they are fully asleep, we administer the final medication to stop their heart. It’s possible for your pet to experience some excitement, deep breaths, vocalization, or movement before, during, or after the euthanasia.
We are here to guide and support you through this process, so please feel free to ask any questions to help us best prepare you.
We offer in-home euthanasia services within Clackamas County for $350, which includes sedation and euthanasia. This appointment is booked as three hours in our calendar to account for commute time, though the actual visit is two hours. For those located outside Clackamas County, an additional fee of $50 applies.
If you choose to keep your pet’s remains, please ensure you are aware of your county’s requirements for proper burial or disposal. Otherwise, we work with West Coast Pet Memorial Services if you would prefer your pet’s cremated remains be stored in an urn.
